Ahh, but ants do fly. The drones fly for about 2 weeks before they starve to death if the rest of the colony doesn’t kill them before they can escape the hive.

The queen flies once to set up a new hive.

Sometimes not having wings is an advantage.

    Ants have wings, don’t they????

Flying ants have wings, which they shed once they’ve reached a new domicile.

If they didn’t have wings, they’d spend most of their relatively short life spans waiting in the security lines at the airports.

Ha ha, since all the ants we see in B.C. are of the wingless variety, they have to all be sterile female workers. Hence, the humor.
