Good one, Rakkav! Too bad they don’t put those Burma Shave signs out on the road any more, I know where you could get a job.

Saw a bull snake when I was younger and it had more bumps than that snake of course when Mom saw it it was soon a dead snake.

Thanks, farren and gmartin997.
If they can have cows writing on billboards and encouraging people to “eat mor chikin” on behalf of Chik-Fil-A (here in Texas and elsewhere), then they can have Burma Shave billboards by the interstates. Were it up to me, I’d revive the product brand name for that reason alone. :) Right along with Hai Karate. ;)

Yeah, but I do love those cows.

SQUIDBREAKER said, 4 months ago
Precisely, Doctortoon.
Snakes coil,slide and slither
It must be the inchworm that has gotten bigger!
Give him an inch, he’ll take a mile…
Dewed said, 4 months ago
If the directions said “rub this on” … it’s probably the “rubbing” that did it.
Then again … snakes don’t have hands

Will that longest snake challenge with Broad fatso gal with a rock bat. She usually does to whamp the small snake with rock bat. Burma snake VS Broad fatso gal ?

Check Burma-shave.org for listings of the original ‘jingles’.
BTW, those and billboards are how I learned to speed-read.
Jor-El said, 4 months ago
This is great! I can’t believe so many people still remember the old Burma-Shave signs.

Well the fat broad can’t miss now, not that she ever missed before.
SQUIDBREAKER said, 4 months ago
Calling something ‘a fat broad’ is redundant.
A plain is flat and broad.
Mountains could be fat and broad.
A fat broad ‘snake’ probably is a leech.
‘well the obese female can’t miss now…’
hmmmmmm.

EMET,
I have a few of the very old BC pocket books at home. The comic lists its cast of characters at the begining of the book. “The Fat Broad” was the name given to the weight-challenged woman who likes to flatten the snake with a club. To my knowledge Hart has not changed her name. In fact, I believe there may have been a recent comic that actually used her name.

Hey, enhanced snake, here’s how you do it. 1. Lie in wait 2. spring up and bite her 3. wrap your coils around her 4. squeeze
SQUIDBREAKER said, 4 months ago
Hey - thanks Bill Clinton 13.
We like ‘the fat broad’ because we hate snakes too.
Did she use a wood or an iron?
boldyuma said, 4 months ago
I used to date a girl named “snake” in high school…..she had enhanced bumps too!

EMET,
Wood…not an iron - as in golf.
Also I’m no Democrat…BC13 was chosen because I like the comic strip of the same name and I am not superstitious. I don’t dread Friday the 13th like others do.

where I live along the old 66 highway, we have a few “new” burma signs. More would be welcome.

EMET – Isn’t that Hebrew for “truth”? Would fit with some of the more arcane things I’ve seen you throw out.
Off-topic for that reason, perhaps you’d enjoy this part of my Web site for that reason:
http://www.rakkav.com/biblemusic/
(“Rakkav” is Hebrew for “horseman, charioteer”. Back-translation from an Anglo-Saxon last name.)
SQUIDBREAKER said, 4 months ago
Rakkav - yup.
Nice site.
Mine is at myspace: ‘Sieve ‘em!
I had to look up arcane. It wasn’t an insult. Thanks.

Pursuant to some other comments, the official Web site confirms that the Snake’s nemesis is indeed named Fat Broad:
