That is wonderful thoughtfulness! Happy Father’s to all Daddies and Granddaddies and Great Granddaddies! Enjoy on Father’s Day!
(When my father is still alive, I would give him his favorite popcorn bags and Hershey chocolate bars that he loves. But we as brothers, sisters and myself missed him dearly.)

The first time I read BC, it was a Wiley poem about a freckle on his nose. It really struck my funnybone as I had a freckle on my nose too! It went: “Freckle, freckle, on my nose; I know not why its me you chose; or what you are or where you’re from; So I will squash you with my thumb!” I have always loved BC and the way he used his faith in his strips–some newpapers would not run them. Two thoughts about this, 1. The people who did not get to see these strips because of some ignorant editor are much poorer for it, and 2. the igorant editor who decided not to run Johnny’s religious strips will face our Father in Heaven some day and will have to give an account for him/her self. God bless Johnny and his wife, Bobby. We are all so much better for the two of you. Johnny is one of those ‘Bright Stars” now.

Thank you, Wiley. Thank you so very much.

Through tears on missing my brightest star Dad, I wish all Dads EVERYWHERE, and those that are Dads to some of us, A VERY HAPPY FATHERS’ DAY. And thank you for watching over us always and forever.

    Thank you TugboatMama.

Adam (Eve’s partner) would be a little put out by Wiley, right about now, but for the millenium, Wiley can thank his lucky stars.

Roto13, this strip does have it’s moments and I find this strip funnier than most, with the exception of Father’s Day & other similar occasions, which tends to feature Wiley’s wisdom.

I know Mr. Hart is with his Father. This strip reflects that idea. Thank you.

I lost my Dad 1 1/2 years ago. He was 98, and suffering from Alzheimer’s. But I could always reach him by singing a song to him that he’d taught me when I was small. It was an old song from the ’20s - “Stars Are The Windows of Heaven.” No matter where his mind might have been wandering, he would always sing it with me, and he always remembered the words. This strip meant a lot to me. He is indeed my Brightest Star. May all of you lucky enough to be able to tell your Dads in person, Happy Father’s Day.

Nice. My father was a navigator in the USNavy before + during WW2.
He became a Chief Petty Officer while on a sub in the South China Sea. As I grew up he showed me many constellations, other stars, planets, even satellites in the night sky.

I show these same creations of God to my own children, and any one interested.
even during daylight I am comforted with good memories of my father because stars are always over us, we just can’t see them. Same is true for my father, and my mother, I don’t have to see something to feel it.
Thanks Skip-Papa. And thanks to all fathers who are vets, with a special salute to all WW2 fathers and submariners.

‘Stars are the Windows of Heaven’ - that’s beautiful. I too lost my Dad a few years ago and miss him more than I thought I would. Thank you all for your comments, thanks Wiley and here’s remembering you, Johnny Hart, for all the laughs and wisdom over the years.
