    My father used to beat us with a leather belt, sometimes on bare skin. When we burned the belt in the furnace, he just beat us some more with another.

    I haven’t seen him in about 25 years. If my calculations are right, he’ll be 100 in about 5 years. I think I’ll go to his party and tell him what I think.
