Mugger: “Your money or your life!”

    Jack Benny: (no answer)

    Mugger: “Well?”

    Jack: “I’m thinking it over!”

Thug: “You’re gonna give us $10,000, or we’re gonna break both your legs!”

Jack: “Does it have to be both?”

Latin maybe dead as a conversant language but it is the basis for many spoken languages including English, Spanish, and Italian. It is still used in Science especially biology.
