    I do see his point, but there is a saying that’s been around for quite some time:
    “Things are going downhill”, which means they are getting worse.

    Uphill battle is harder than downhill. Downhill is easier only it means loss as in a graph.

    Also, a snowball goes faster and faster downhill until it gets so big that it can consume you. At least it’s that way in cartoons.
