Barney -- J. Barnard Pillsbury -- is the billionaire founder and CEO of Pillsbury Pharmaceuticals. Barney thinks he has it all: power, wealth, a pampered existence with a statuesque trophy wife – until he meets Clyde Finster, an intelligent, entertaining (and possibly crazy) street person. Clyde's satisfaction with his circumstance surprises and confounds Barney, whose success in life has been hard-fought and won. For Clyde, Barney's acceptance is validation of a life lived without compromise.

The only time I ever heard of Spring Byington is on The Simpsons. Mr. Burns mentioned her.

She was pretty well known, mostly from starring in the TV series “December Bride”, but also from many juicy roles in films of the ’30s and ’40s.

The Weingartens are never going to stop telling bad jokes on purpose, are they.

How often have we heard out dated references. (Though not as out dated as today’s but for 20-40 years ago. Or even Last year.)

Had to Google it: Bendix Spring is a kind of brake… in case anyone else out there is as clueless as I am!
