I remember sending and receiving telegrams from sundry places while in the Army. They used to scare the bejesus outta my parents, thought. WWII was still in their minds and nobody got good news from a telegram back then.

Know the feeling. When my friend moved out of state I asked when she expected to have her computer up and running so I could email her. She looked at me blankly and held up her can-do-everything-but-cook-dinner phone. Sigh. 1978? I can’t even get out of the 1950s half the time!

When my grandmother was alive, we would send each other letters. It was awesome getting them in the mail. Email can’t replace that.
