yes news print is declining…as here in Cincinnati. the paper was downsized to the size of a sunday ad, raised the price and moved the printing 100 miles away so it never gets here before I go to work.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve said it before in other threads. If the newspapers want to kick up readership they should expand not shrink the comics. Go back to the days when one Sunday strip would take up half a page. Even the daily strips can be bumped up.

I’ll grant you that many of today’s stick figure comics won’t look as good. But people who are more an artist than a joke teller, like our friend Corey here, would benefit when people see his work in all its glory.

The Tampa Trib cut the color to about half of the Sunday comics a few weeks ago.

The Columbia News and Observer cuts 4 strips on Sundays, but does still provide color.

The San Francisco Chronicle used to have two full pages of comics every day. Of course, they were also making enough money from people buying it as well as ad revenue to be able to afford some comics excess, along with a full reporting staff, columnists known world-wide, etc., etc.
    Sob….
