    Agreed. In MY house they are there to be target practice. But I don’t live in New York (and never will!) so I’m still allowed to defend myself.

    A man’s home is his castle is an English tradition not part of any American legal system anywhere. If you kill an intruder you will go to jail for manslaughter at least. You will probably get off if you can prove you were defending yourself and it is much easier to get off in some places than others (the South for example) but it is still illegal to kill people for trespassing in this country.

    That’s right, Yankee. You come into a person’s house in the South, you are asked to leave, then shot. As for the castle doctrine not being part of any American legal system, you may be correct about sissy-assed Yankee parts of the country, but not in REAL America, you know, the South, the West, etc.
