Nothing on the internet is truly deleted forever, as many celebrities, politicians and athletes have found out.

Actually, there can be hundreds of copies of you emails scattered around the country, and even globally, on network node computers. Most are deleted within 24 hours, but not all of them.

There is this theory that we’re surrounded by an ether of deleted email messages and documents sent to “print” that don’t really do that. The person who learns how to retrieve these will die wealthy, for blackmail if nothing else.

They go with the “FBI 4-in-the-morning raiders” that take every hard drive in the house and run you off to HQ for ‘diligent investigation’.. Meanwhile the guy across the street, seeing all the excitement, re-formats his HD and reads all about you in the local papers for the next few days.
The cops send you home with the admonition “we’re keeping our eyes on you !”
    Or…or..“so I’ve been told..”
