    Corey Pandolph has proven to be an utter disappointment. He had the makings of a few great strips, but was felled by laziness or massive writer’s block. He proved to be the death knell for The Elderberries when he took it over … and subsequently abandoned it. He needs to change his nom de plume from “Fake Rockstar” to “Fake Cartoonist”. I’m taking BL and TOBY off of my favorites.

    this is the comic without an end and a decreasing middle. it goes round and round and round.

    Have to agree that Pandolph must be the laziest cartoonist ever…always loved this strip, but he never could fit it into a regular rhythm….Better file this strip under “Best of..” along with Liberty Meadows!

    TimmyF – if you write to Cory, I’m sure he’ll refund your money. Barkeater Lake is a great cartoon, but it was a free web cartoon and, outside of three books and some merchandise, Cory wasn’t making any money by doing it. I was sorry to see him abandon the strip but I understand that ya gotta pay those bills. I like rereading the strip, and I’ve missed the reruns here. Hopefully this time they’ll make it all the way through the series. Morris’ line about technicolor Cheetos is worth the ride.

    Write to him all way TimmyF, but kiss your money goodbye. He still owes me 2 of those 3 books, or a refund. Trusted him enough to pre-pay him back in 2009. I finally gave up trying to get the money back. Guess the Rat B@s—— needs the money more than I do.

    This man was very creative and made very little money doing it. What do you do for the masses for free? I would bet that these cartoons barely covered expenses, how is he going to pay for everything else?

    I doubt his expenses went down when he pulled the reverse Barkeater Lake — moving from Maine to NYC.

    I’ll let the rest of you debate the business angles of Barkeater. I just enjoy it when it shows up. Hopefully this time we’ll see a more or less full life cycle.

    We don’t get to see Delores’ father yet. But he seems to have the typical NYC attitude that there is no civilization west of the Hudson.

    Corey Pandolph is the definition of what is truly disappointing to any real comic strip fan. Personally I believe the guy is an idiot. Barkeater Lake is one of the best and funniest comic strips that’s been around for quite a while. Pandolph could make a freakin’ fortune off of this strip if he would get his head out of whatever hole it is he keeps putting it into. He has contiinually abandoned this strip and it’s fans for years. And I’m positive that there is no way he will do anything else but disappoint fans now and in the future. I can guarantee you all that the people with the real money, the ones that produce comics and turn them into movies and such have no faith what so even in Pandolph. And it’s a shame, it really is. This is a super cool comic with original ideas and those chipmunks or squirrels are hilarious. Pandolph could have made millions and millions of dollars off of this strip. I guess it must be nice to be able to just blow off a great future filled with money and success in order to hang out somewhere doing nothing. Pandolph can count on one thing for sure. This fan, right here, that has been watching since he first appeared on Comics. com is done with him. No more pal.

    @Dry and Dusty

    You could try to get your money back by contacting your local Postmaster if you ordered through the mail. If ordered online the State Attorney General could probably help. If not they both and steer you in the right direction. And it’s a lot easier than you think to contact these people. Google them and call them. The internet has made stuff like this so much easier. No one, not Pandolph or anyone else has the right to take your money and not give you what you paid for. Don’t just roll over and let him screw you over. You have rights. But you have the responsibility to start the process. Pandolph doesn’t deserve to keep anyone’s money. Go for it, it’s not that hard, get your money back.
