Barkeater Lake is the fake story of the real Delores Tanzini's move from the Metropolitan NY area to the rural tree infested town of Barkeater Lake, located in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. Looking for peace and quiet from the loud and war-torn city, she finds herself smack in the middle of completely different brand of crazy.

Corey - I know it takes a lot of work to draw in that kind of detail.
Don’t expect it every day, but appreciate it when we see it.

The detail works especially well when the faces aren’t doing much of anything. I noticed once how details in Doonesbury are rather elaborate (architectural complexity) when it’s just speech bubbles coming out of the White House in every panel.
I’m surprised to see such a density of what looks like cropland and villages in the North Country, though. Maybe Banks’s flight farther than I realized, maybe instead of being a connection. The downside of detailed art in a comic is the same as the downside of a movie version of a drama - the viewer’s inevitable preconceptions have more to clash with!
Tough noogies, I’d say. The artist is better off telling it just like he imagines it.

What in Elvis Presley? THAT’S an in-flight meal? Could use two slices of bread, a leaf of lettuce, a slice of Swiss cheese and a few slices of avacado… and a juice box (grape). Then you’d get some fancy B.L.T. sandwich.
