Barkeater Lake is the fake story of the real Delores Tanzini's move from the Metropolitan NY area to the rural tree infested town of Barkeater Lake, located in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. Looking for peace and quiet from the loud and war-torn city, she finds herself smack in the middle of completely different brand of crazy.

This should be an interesting start to a relationship.
“You bit me.”
“You thought I was a vampire.”
Then both laugh… maybe…
Somehow this makes what had seemed to be a “normal” person seem to fit in better in off-beat land…
I think it is very gentlemenly of Banks and Chuck to leave them alone to work things out - even though it does seem to have been not entirely voluntary.

Where were the women like Delores when I was looking for one?
Doriation said, 4 months ago
Some of us are still around doctortoon. ;)
I hope your new lady is one of them also!

You’re absolutely, right, Chuck - I blame the internet also….

I think we’re reaching a middle ground here.
No Biting/No Running.

I’m guessing Gabe sleeps with a nightlight on, next to a string of garlic, with a wooden stake under his pillow.
(That’s why they went back to her house and not his)

Perhaps standard behavior for the marooned, companionship-starved urban female. Don’t know about Gabe though.

Where is today’s and yesterday’s comic?

Corey is not the most consistent cartoonist, but he does keep up with “The Elderberries”.
His other comic “TOBY” seems to get updated at the same time as “Barkeater Lake”.
He is working on a fourth comic and trying to build up enough strips to get GoComics interested in it.
Check out his blog or go to his online store and buy his stuff:

Hey guys,
Sorry for the delay this week. We had to travel unexpectedly. As soon as I file my deadline for the Elderberries, I’ll update TOBY and BL.
Thanks in advance for your patience!

I blame the internet for no comic strip here.

The trick is not to get so attached to this comic as to get disappointed when it’s not there for a few days. Difficult, yes, considering it’s a great strip. :-)
Akenta said, 4 months ago
I just don’t expect to see it everyday, so when I check in and there’s something new I just enjoy it more :-)
Mac said, 4 months ago
There are webcomics I check every week that are sometimes not updated for months. In one case, the last update included something like four strips all at once.

Akenta, nice Brain ride from your First generation Ever Quest Avatar. THanks
Akenta said, 4 months ago
ozzi glad you liked it. Updated it this morning since she finally got a better helmet.

With respect to the fact that “Elderberries” pays the bills (thus the understandable necessity of priority), it’s sad to have the cliffhanger pauses in the “Love at First Bite” BL storyline, while getting a faithful report of what random thing Dusty is eating or drinking each day.

Corey needs an intern to help him keep up with his workload here. Who wants to volunteer?
CoachChass said, 4 months ago
Scary thing is Corey keeps pointing out that he’s drowning under the current workload, yet at the same time keeps talking about adding more to it…might be time to consider the “do only a few things, and do them well” philosophy…works out better for the mental health in the long run, I’ve found.

Folks,
I’ve figured out that taking time to get ahead on freelance work and these strips hurts no one physically, and keeps me sane.
I have a plan and this week will make everyone happier in the long run.
No worries,
CP

i think Cory doesn’t know where to take this relationship.thier both acting strange
hawgowar said, 4 months ago
The Fake Rockstar should step in, put on his flame jeans, &*# -slap Gabe out of the way, take her out in his pickup and give her a night she’ll still be smiling about two eons after she’s dead.
PS: Corey, quit making promises you know in your soul you won’t keep. ;-)

Staying sane is good.Or so the sane people keep trying to tell me.
