   No, it was a bottle she tossed down. Gretel could still be Sabine. Does any one remember if she told them her name or if Rosemary and Scott made something up because they can’t understand her whispering? It is possible. ‘Jean-Claude’ does very strongly resemble Tom. The only big difference (other than language) is Tom doesn’t wear glasses. She is keeping Tom longer than she kept Scotty.

    Maybe Gretel IS Sabine. Maybe she threw Jean Claude off the island before meeting Rosemary to get her mind of him. And maybe since she’s always inebriated, she thinks Tom is actually Jean Claude and she’s torturing Tom because she thinks she’s torturing Jean Claude? Lots of maybes…. ;)

    Where does She keep getting all the stuff to drink? Maybe Gretel is hoping Rosemary needs Tom to gather food and will come for him. And that is why she is holding holding Tom hostage. Gretel doesnt realize their is another food gatherer on the other island and that’s the reason Rosemary hasnt rescued/negotiated for Tom. Ohhh, molassas moves quicker.
