    About AXE
In our day (Lord, am I that old?) We had Hai Karate, every generation gets its own musk/ smell that gets marketed to the kids just learning to shave and clueless about how to attract girls. I firmly believe that most of it is used after High School gym, trying to hide the last of the sweat after shower.

Let us not forget Old Spice, grandmother to Ginger and Scary.

In my day there was a cologne called “Polo,” a Ralph Lauren product in a dark green bottle. It had a distinctive and strong smell that would linger long after the person wearing it left. Funny thing I read that Calvin Klein rejected it before Ralph Lauren chose it. But it was very popular.

There was also ‘Brut’ and rapidly abandoned by any self-respecting male as well as Aqua Manda. This was produced in ‘his’ and ‘hers’ versions, but she always pinched his. At least, that’s what my girlfriends did. Brut did not attract girls. I’m told that it did have its attraction for some, but that is why it was rapidly abandoned.
