It’s sad how no one talking with one another face to face SANS cell phones and other technologies anymore.

Skype is a considerable upgrade over the traditional long-distance telephone call. But even my wife and I text each other, sometimes while in the house.

I thank God everyday that my teens aren’t like this. They do have cellphones and they do text me but we can sit and talk face to face and we still hug. We just went to dinner yesterday and talked and laughed – no one had their phones out.

And therein lies the biggest problem we have in America
today. People have become addicted to cell phones and
other electronic gadgets. The are of actually interaction
between two individuals or a family at Dinner time is a
lost art. The TV is blaring, people do not stop and sit down
together to discuss what has happened during the day.
A good friend mine has a standing rule at his home. No
TV, Radio, Internet or other electronic devices are allowed
between 5:30PM and 7:00PM. It must work because
he has 4 children that have gotten full rid academic scholarships to good colleges

That is a very good rule. I have one child out of six so far that has earned a full ride scholarship. The next one to come out has excellent grades but the younger one’s are iffy. I think I’ll try it.

I’ve noticed in difficult college classes the kids who use their cells the most and have the latest models will be the ones that are forced to drop the class or flunk.
