He still has to file, at least to get back his withheld income taxes.

I’d rather owe – that means I made more money. And I’m happy to pay my taxes. At means I’m contributing to my country and not just being a self-centered greedy jerk.

@cdward – Agreed! I enjoy knowing I’m helping pay for roads and police and army, to educate our children, to help people who have fallen on hard times, etc.

Not really, more of your money goes to what masnadies listed. I agree that there are those that abuse the system that is in place. I agree that there are times when the people who really need help can’t get it because there are some out there that have it and abuse it. But I also see those that are getting help, with the goal of getting out of the system.

As a disabled veteran with lifelong medical needs, I thank you for helping to pay for my treatments. I also help pay for them and the other things you mentioned through my taxable income.

Those who have served in the military have too often placed their lives at risk for the benefit of us who have remained as civilians. This they have done for far less than they could have earned in the private sector. Not only have many have done without to serve and protect us, their families have suffered too. Do not begrudge them the benefits they receive upon retirement. (Although, the medical care they often have available through Veteran’s Administration is too often substandard.)
Instead be upset at the fact that one can serve one or two terms in Congress and receive free, high quality medical care for life with a pay check that most of us wish we would have upon retiring after 40 years of hard, productive work.

Nobody objects to paying taxes. What they object to is seeing the goverment waste it and then claim the problem is that your not paying enough. Billions to the muslim brotherhood. 2.5 million to a study to find out why lesbians are fat. (their fat for the same reason I am. I eat too much and don’t exersize enough. There I just saved the goverment millions) Millions so an artist can put a cross in a jar of urine. 500 million to a solar company that didn’t last a yeart. You get the message. Instead of raising taxes cut out the useless crap.

The few who abuse the system make a bad name for those who are underemployed and going to school trying to get out of the system. Most people on welfare are not what you described.
