Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

Have you forgotten, Sergio, that you’re diabético? Por favor, watch your blood sugar level (and order from a health food eatery at the mall like Subway or Mongolian Grill like I do.)

Sergio, that’s kinda the point.

Subway is not what I call “healthy eating”, despite their ads.

It’s healthier than a triple cheeseburger

If that be the case, how come Jared (Subway’s
long-time spokesman) is still healthy today? Surely not with smoke and mirrors!

It’s depends on what you get. If you stick to wheat or honey oat bread, 6" only, lean meats and plenty of veggies that’s healthy eating. We have to take responsibility for our own choices.

Try to stay away from the sugar in almost any food too like the more obvious “honey” is a tip off.

All of the sugar in the honey goes to feeding the yeast so that all that’s left of it is the flavor.

I like the way she is always finding ways to watch out for her Papi’s health so he will stay around longer for her. She doeas it without being overly bossy or critical. After all, it sounds like she is still going to let him have the burger.

A triple cheeseburger is excessive, especially at his age. How about a triple serving of vegetables and whole grains? And what is he doing eating out when his wife is a great cook?

Graciela, old folks need to ease back into exercise. Walk up ONE flight, then take the elevator the rest of the way.

Don’t forget the onion rings and the cold beer!!

One cheeseburger, a year is not going to kill you, but going up four flights of stairs can. I’m a older man still eating what I like in smaller portions. Avoiding stairs when possible. 75+ still going, but slower.
