   Cruz’ words seem to imply that Baldo is the consolation prize rather than first prize material. I don’t believe that’s what he meant, tho. Cruz is far too nice to think that.

   The Spanish translation actually says Baldo is the “type of guy girls end up with.” I would consider that a compliment.

    Believe it or not, Hernando will get tired of the ladies over time and could end up as a confirmed bachelor. He knows how to deal with a certain kind of women and is putting on a show to impress other guys. He has something to prove, both to himself and to others. He doesn’t actually care much what women think.
