Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

When I was in college, there was a guy on my floor who had theater speakers in his room. If he had ever cranked them up full blast, he probably could have blown out a wall. They were huge (barely fit through the door).

The speakers I’m listening to right now are much bigger than those! Took two people to get them into my apartment. They sound awesome.

I still have my old stereo speakers. They’re sitting next to my old turntable and a box of old vinyl.

I’m living in my old speakers, they are bigger than any apartment I could afford. :P

Heresy’s were small with lots of quality sound. I have my old AR speakers still.

I knew big speakers were gone when I heard a pair of Bose 901s powered by an 800 watt McIntosh amp.

They look about the size of my old Sansui speakers, ‘imported’ from Olongapo Philippines. They were so heavy it was a chore to hold one for very long. They sounded great back then and for many many many years later. Thanks for the memories Papi…..

They’re certainly smaller than my JVC speakers; they have 15" woofers and there’s no way to lift them both at the same time. As I recall, they cost me about $700 for the pair back in the late 70’s.

Olongapo? I didn’t know that town had any source of income once Subic Bay Naval Base closed down! Thanx for bringing back loads of old memories (from ‘72) that I haven’t thought about in years!
