Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

I long for the day when the History channel actually played historical programming! It’s nothing but redneck shows today.
H2, on the other hand, actually still plays some historical programming. I have to turn to the Military Channel to get most of my history today.

What bugs me about the History Channel and its ilk is that they primarily focus on wars. History’s a lot more than that.

You’re not aging, Baldo. You’re maturing. Big difference.

You’re not the only one. Remember when TLC was an actual “learning channel” not the drivel on it now. I loved Discovery but prefer the Science Channel more.

The Smithsonian channel has good historical and science programs, too.

Are you referring to the Myth and Hysteria channel?

The only thing historical about History Channel these days is the age of the reruns they show.

I’ve found the ones on “How The States Got Their Shapes” and “10 Things you didn’t know about….” were both good.

I think of it as the Hick Story Channel. Usually I just wait for good history shows on PBS, which created the market in the first place.
