Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

Why couldn’t Nagisa Furukawa of “Clannad” and Shiori Misaka of “Kanon” think of that? (The coming to school via robot part.)

Rayna was the the attractive android in the original Star Trek episode, “Requiem for Methuselah”. Rayna Kapec was her full name. (Capek was the last name of the Czech writer that first coined the term ‘robot’ in the 1920 play, “R.U.R.”, btw.)

This was done in “The Big Bang Theory” a couple of years ago. Sheldon Cooper figured he wouldn’t get sick or injured if he sent one of these bots in his place.

Based upon some of the stuff that goes on in some school systems that makes
a lot of sense. wonder if it like a Darleks from the Dr Who series?

Last time I looked, Clannad was an Irish trad music group. How does a Japanese get hooked up with that?

Did the strip skip ahead a couple decades? There isn’t anyone sending a robot to school in their stead – distance learning using virtual classrooms does that for the cost of a desktop computer and internet connection.
