Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

You have to read, defeats the purpose of going to a movie. Personally I’d rather read.

Reading was declared racist and elitist by the liberals and democrats.

Grow up, Zoid. You’re really reaching there. I’d love to see your reading list for the past year.

It was the Arizona fascists who banned anything mentioning Mexico, including The Tempest!

Trying to project from aggregate group characteristics to individuals of the group(s), is a fools error. One can’t say Democrats or Republicans are smarter or better educated as both groups contain constituencies that are, and also have many who may be just the opposite – Republicans poor white voters in the South, for example, or Democrats with larger amounts of support among inner-city poor. Although, among those with higher levels of education, especially graduate level degrees, it is clearly seen in studies that more tend to be liberal and support the Democratic Party (not necessarily being the same things) in the USA.
So Zoid’s statement is not just a reach, it’s just dumb trolling. But he probably doesn’t read much to know that. Although making that assumption puts me in the position of projecting from the aggregate level to the individual, I think the comment itself backs the hypothesis.

Wasn’t this about popcorn?

I prefer dubbed because it takes away from the movie to have to read the sub titles.

Only in your benighted mind. As I see it the Conservatives are all against being fully educated. They see being ideologically indoctrinated in their own pap as sufficient.

“Butter”? They use some sort of oil. In the northside of Chicago there is a theater that uses real butter.

Y’know, I might’ve missed some announcement or other…but there’s a new signature on the strip I just noticed today and I can’t make it out. Can anybody direct me somewhere where I can find an explanation?
Nothing to do with the quality of the strip—-that’s still great—-but I kick myself mentally for not noticing sooner…

Guess you all forgot the real reason for films having subtitles – it’s for deaf/hard of hearing people. I’m able to read subtitles and enjoy the film at the same time. Try…it’s not hard, just gotta learn to read fast! :)

NO BUTTER!!! I would have gone to a different theatre.
