Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

Isn’t he a bit young to buy lottery tickets? I guess it would depend where the strip is set, but here in FlorryDUH, state rules say you have to be at least 18 to purchase lottery tickets or claim a prize. Although I guess someone else could buy for him, but legally, they would be the winner…..

Imagine a roll of pennies, not just 50 pennies like in a standard bank roll, but one that stretches over 100 miles. Now imagine yourself picking one specific penny out of that roll. Those are your odds of winning a lottery like Power Ball. .

Yeah but every couple of weeks or so someone manages to pick out the right penny. Why not you?

Imagine if he invested that or put in a savings account.

Well, considering that Baldo has been a teenager since 2002, he should be about 24 by now… technically old enough, but cartoon physics make him look like he’s 15. ;-)

His strategy is perfect if he learns plumbing. It sure beats washing dishes in some restaurant, or farm work.
