    Don’t think of it as “paltry atonement” — think of it as “a small step closer to that ’64 Impala ragtop.”

    “paltry atonement” = “payday”
    smart kid | small step > “real life”

    Ooooooooh! How much is the pay check?

    Baldo seems to have large ambitions ( Judging by the Second Panel)

    “Paltry Atonement” – Wasn’t that a band in the 60’s??

    Nice artwork, Baldo in superhero form. Did these guys used to be comic book artists?

    Are they not smart enough to know what they are geting paid before they say “yes I will take the job”? If they are getting paid what they were promised they should have no complaints. As a high school student does he realy expect more than minimum wage for an entry level job?

    Well, he’s been there quite a while—and who isn’t shocked when they see how much is (or isn’t!) in the check vs how much their “pay” is?

    @Potrzebie

    I thought it was underwear at first. LOL!
    Once I looked closer, I could see it was just a red, white, and blue outfit, though.

    I would love to have an act of paltry atonement – it’s been 4 months so far since I had one.

    Who would want a car that uses leaded gasoline? It may not pass emmissions inspection.
