That’s going to get quite expensive, Gracie.

Let her try it for a few days. She’ll change her tune pretty fast.

Beating the clothes with a rock will eventually become too many holes.

If I take a bath, I pollute the water.

    If I don´t, I pollute the air.

She would never use non-eco-friendly detergent. Her bigger issue, if she lives in LA or similar (why do I assume that? Maybe because I grew up there?), will be finding a river within bus distance, much less a clean one. Remember, Gracie, don’t get your hands near your mouth when washing, less you contract giardia.

The clothes dryer is more environmentally unfriendly than the washer. If your weather and space permit, hang a clothesline. You’ll also save a lot on your electricity bill.

Washing clothes in the river pollutes the river with soap.
