Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

Renting your soul is a whole lot worse than selling it.

Is that why watching too much Reality TV sucks the souls out of people?
Stay tuned for possible lecture on the various ways and means that TV can (or can’t) do just that.
With specific examples.

The spiritual truth is that a person cannot sell his soul at all.
He can’t give something away that is not his own.
The “Survivor” TV series is also a reality show; because if a person went to any of the remote locations to survive on his own, he would have a better chance of survival.
I only watch the show when it’s the last night of a “Survivor” season.
One of these days, someone is going to end up dying on location and the cause of death will be considered manslaughter committed by the show’s camera persons and its host.

“Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?” is also a reality game show. When they start taping the show in June, the classmates are no longer 4th graders; but, they are not yet 5th Grade students.
And, while they just pretend to be normal children, they are paid actors and have to belong to a union, too.
