Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

Hey Yenny, give Baldo a break! He’s a good kid, not a weirdo! [the rest of us on the other hand…]

Hijole, calmate Baldo!
I know Doc’s been looking forward to this.

You’re right Carmy, I have.
Yenny seems toned down here.
I wonder if Dave did that on purpose so as not to offend the uptight American readers.

The Yenny Lopez comics are supposed to be for teenagers; but, that teenager needs to be at least 18 years old.

Baldo is holding a Puerto Rico Flag.
“Boricuo” (masculine) and “Boricua (feminine) are now commonly used for “Boriqueño” and “Boriqueña” for people from Puerto Rico.
The Puerto Rican comics artist David Alvarez didn’t tone down big foot Yenny Lopez at all.
But, I guess this isn’t any worse than have the similar clad “Dallas Cheerleaders” on the “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader” show hosted by Jeff Foxworthy.

Puerto Rico readers are American.
There are a lot of comic strips in GoComics, including Yenny, which should be considered too vulgar for the comics page of newspapers.

JAD: Saludos. To clarify: The word “boricua” applies to both males and females. There is no “boricuo”. Also, it’s “borinqueño” and “borinqueña”.

Hey guys, Ive been looking forward to working with my good friend David Alvarez for several years now. it was very rewarding to have finally done this crossover.
Doc, Yenny’s not toned down at all. She stays true to character here which was really the whole objective.
BTW- stay tuned because the Yenny/Baldo crossover continues for the next six days.
Hope you enjoy, and as always thanks for reading and let us know what you think.

Shows how poor Facebook must be if she has to block him more than once.

Hey! Thanx for the Sunday strip with Yenny in it!
Enjoy folks - it’ll probably be a while before we see her on Sunday again…

Wow…a Yenny crossover!
Ha…even in another strip and indirectly interacting with other characters, the humor is all the same… brilliant!

I always do love comic crossovers - this one should be a lot of fun!

I was kind of hoping Baldo and Yenny would meet F2F, but hey, this is the internet age. Well done, David!
p.s. Yes Baldo, you are that obvious. ;-)

I’m glad that you guys liked the crossover. It was a fun thing to do. Carlos and Hector are great guys and this was a great opportunity to interact with our characters.
Just like Carlos said, the Yenny crossover continues this week so stay tuned!
Yenny is not “toned down” in any way. She’s just like she always is. I don’t consider the strip as vulgar. Whoever says that haven’t read the comic at all and it’s judging the book by it’s cover.
I could go for hours on this but this is not my corner.
Enjoy folks!

A Yenny/Baldo permanent series would be awesome! Maybe Baldo can go vaction in Los Cubos! Or Yenny in California!

Love this cross-over…
I’m a big supporter of the Yenny strip, and i’m glad to see it getting some exposure (pun intended).
It’s too bad though that sex is considered “vulgar” in a culture that embraces violence so easily. I’d rather a teenager view a sexy comic strip than play video games where they can achieve a 30/hour kill rate.
