Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

If anyone remember the old Quick Draw McGraw cartoons El Kabong was Quick Draw’s alter Ego which was a spoof on the lengendary fictional hero of Old California, Zorro in which El Kabong used a Guitar as his weapon of choice.

Since Gracie was playing an acoustic tenor guitar, she just destroyed something that was probably worth quite a bit of money since they stopped making (4-string) tenor guitars quite a few years ago.
The strings on those guitars are tuned just like those on a tenor banjo or mandolin. A person who never learned to play a 6-string guitar but, plays a tenor banjo or mandolin, can play a tenor guitar just fine.
Gracie must be trying to teach herself to play the guitar.

bald 716, after he smashed to his ear, I think the guitar smash made him drop it to the floor. It might still be edible.

Hey, don’t discourage Gracie about her guitar to keep practicing in music lesson. Tsk!

Ay yi yi, what a temper Gracie has there. Not only she needs to control her tember, but also needs to get a new guitar… hopefully not to “KA-BONG!” her older brother with again.

Guess that must have been a Doozy guitar. You recognize it now, Baldo?
Can you spell Doozy? I knew you could.
