Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

Whoa! I forgot the guest artists were coming up! David Alvarez will draw the strip for October 18. I wonder if Baldo will meet Yenny?

Lovin Spoonful said it first in “Daydream:”
What a day for a daydream
What a day for a daydreamin’ boy
And I’m lost in a daydream
Dreamin’ ‘bout my bundle of joy
And even if time ain’t really on my side
It’s one of those days for taking a walk outside
I’m blowing the day to take a walk in the sun
And fall on my face on somebody’s new-mown lawn
I’ve been having a sweet dream
I been dreaming since I woke up today
It’s starring me and my sweet thing
‘Cause she’s the one makes me feel this way
And even if time is passing me by a lot
I couldn’t care less about the dues you say I got
Tomorrow I’ll pay the dues for dropping my load
A pie in the face for being a sleep’n bull doag
And you can be sure that if you’re feeling right
A daydream will last long into the night
Tomorrow at breakfast you may pick up your ears
Or you may be daydreaming for a thousand years
What a day for a daydream
Custom made for a daydreaming boy
And I’m lost in a daydream
Dreaming ‘bout my bundle of joy

I thought it said “Lost in Space” but I must be wrong. It said “Lost in a daydream.” OK! Peace and Love! :-)

Wow! If I were color blind, this’d be REALLY something.
Plus, this hardly looks like “Baldo” at all to me.

He must be in a warm place.
A big field of tall grass, with the sun caressing his face.
He must be drinking the wine.

Hi guys, yeah we’re having guest artists for the next four Sundays in celebration Hispanic Heritage Month. This week David ‘LEBO’ LeBatard graces us with his wonderfully vibrant painterly style. You can see more of his work at http://www.lebostudios.com

He must be drinking the wine.
If nobody spills it and takes the pearl before he does. ;-)
