Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

In God I trust, too. But I STILL wear a seat belt. God gave us brains for common sense.

Let’s just pretend that the seatbelts didn’t need to be drawn into the scene because they weren’t actually driving anywhere. They just got in the car for Carmen to show Edwin what she got him.
Hopefully, once Carmen is out of the car, Edwin will take the Rosary down from the mirror and put it in his pocket or the glove box or wrap it around the shifter handle. He, at least, is smart enough to know that you shouldn’t drive with anything dangling from the rear-view mirror. It’s a terrible safety hazard - blocks part of your field of vision and could be distracting at a critical moment!

Also illegal (in California) to have ANYTHING hanging from your rearview mirror while driving…

I always buckle the seat belt while I drive all the time. Even I always use the blinker whenever I turn left or right either all the time. That is my driving habits!

Dude, stop politically trolling and saying stuff like that nobody cares what you think

I’ve heard of those fuzzy dice you put on your rearview mirror, but a symbol of your faith is more nice.
[although not Catholic like most Hispanos, doing the “Padre e Hijo y Espíritu Santo” hand gesture]

“I once looked up and saw I was being run over by the Holy Family on the dashboard of a car”
Reminds me of that great song:
“I don’t care if it bumps or jostles
Long as I got the twelve apostles
Bolted to the dashboard of my car”

Paul,
A tad presumptive of you to decide for us what we here do or don’t think about something or someone. Is there any reason in the world for us to care what YOU think?
I would be interested in learning what Gracie thinks about magical charms and auto safety.

how can l put this…. there are welcomeing things, and there are things that turn to rust… now, when one might consider what happens to have been, of which is’nt under any of our control, one would have to except but have exception. ineffable period…

it’s like this, when driving a vehicle, many say that they will not have the accident, yet they ar’nt recognizing that someone ,may bump into them….

I once gave a friend a St Christopher (patron Saint of safe travels ) to put in his vehicle ….while I was in the vehicle with him …he placed it in a secure place…about a month later as he was going down the road it fell to the floor….at his next stop he retreived it and looked closely at it…there was no reason for it to have fallen like that so he took that as a sign that his co pilot GOD was telling him there was no need for it
