They have a government that wanted to prevent ‘certain people’ from voting. Gov. Lex Luthor & his gooper friends noticed that those folks really took advantage of early voting so they cut the time for it to as few days as they were allowed. The moved polling places in certain precincts & ‘forgot’ to tell people. The loaded the ballot with 11 constitutional issues with very wordy explanations that made the ballot 12 pages long! Oh- there was a note “YOU MUST READ AND VOTE ON EACH”. Some precincts did not have enough tables to vote on. The list goes on & on.
They thought ‘certain people’ would not want to stand in line for hours and hours “just to vote”. It didn’t work. Many people did give up but not all, not even enough for the GOP to steal this election like the one in 2000.

I’ll never understand why a state that votes Democrat for President will vote a reTHUGlican for governor. Michigan is currently suffering from that stupidity. Our illustrious reTHUGlican governor has put in place major tax cuts for coroporations and passed the cost on to the citizens in the form of a major tax increase on some classes of average citizen. But his corporate friends are doing just fine.

Something you don’t seem to understand…corporations don’t pay taxes. They can’t; paying taxes is something it isn’t in the nature of a corporation to do. Only individual human beings, in the final analysis, pay taxes. What corporations can do is collect taxes by redirecting money it would otherwise pay out to investors, suppliers, and employees…all, ultimately, individuals, who since they don’t see any of the money that would have been theirs if the government hadn’t intercepted it don’t realize that it’s they who are paying.
What’s ironic is that the same people who keep yelling that ‘corporations aren’t people’ (which is true, just as it’s true for labor unions, except in the sense that they are quasi-people for the purpose of contracts and other areas of commercial law) refuse to accept the implications of that fact when it comes to taxes.

Look at a map. Florida is a dick.

I think this is the first one that made me laugh about all three ‘stories’. It helps that I live in Michigan and followed Nate Silver’s blog.

I’m so glad I don’t live in a state like Florida. I mean they had people waiting to vote at 2am. What’s up with that ? To my knowledge they still haven’t determined who won their 29 Electoral College votes 3 days later. Floridians need to get rid of their Gov & vote in some responsible legislators

As a lifelong Dodgers fan, I fully agree with Rove on the Giants and their alleged “WS win”. It’s not over yet…

coyoty: To each his/her interest. I thought it looks (and acts) like a tightly closed monkey wrench, good only for throwing into the gears.
