    Maybe they live in Alabama, that’s got a coast line..! Anyway, the meteorite bounced off something before it hit her….off a radio, I think…..

    If your lucky it’s a mystical radioactive meteorite and it gives you Super Powers, or does that only happen in the comics?

    Two other case http://io9.com/5972221/what-happens-if-you-get-hit-by-a-meteorite

    Problem is when you google it, many of the articles about the 1954 case are labeled “the Only Person….” but there are at least two other cases.

    “Prior to the modern era, a single account of meteorite-on-human violence exists. A 17th Century text tells of the death of a monk after being struck by a meteorite, with the meteorite striking him in the leg and breaking the bone.”

    “none of them were actually hit by pieces of the meteorite. . .”
    The Widipedia entry on the woman in Alabama and the tenth comment (see below) state otherwise.

    In 2009, a 14-year-old English schoolboy was hit by a 30,000 mph meteorite that left a 3 inch long scar on his hand.

    Stones falling from the sky were considered figments. Someone even went to trial for reporting such.

    @Charles Smith

    Then what made the scar?
