    This is much too somber, but…

    April Come She Will

    April come she will
    When streams are ripe and swelled with rain;
    May, she will stay,
    Resting in my arms again.

    June, she’ll change her tune,
    In restless walks she’ll prowl the night;
    July, she will fly
    And give no warning to her flight.

    August, die she must,
    The autumn winds blow chilly and cold;
    September I’ll remember
    A love once new has now grown old.

    May I say May is not a verb? How does one may?

    Nor, for that matter, can it be an imperative (but it would be fun to try!)

    OK. The dictionary says it’s an auxiliary verb.

    30 days hath September
    April, June and November
    February has twenty eight alone:
    All the rest have 31
    Excepting Leap year that’s the time,
    When February’s days are 29

    @mantydad

    Here’s the version I was taught:
    30 days hath September,
    April, June, and November,
    All the rest have thirty-one,
    Except the second month alone,
    To which we twenty-eight assign,
    Til Leap Year gives us twenty-nine.
