From the salmon-colored sofa that is the center of the Arlo & Janis universe, this unique and quixotic comic strip has been just about everywhere. From unvarnished human drama to flights of unfettered comic fantasy, from unabashed pathos to unsurpassed observational wit, Arlo & Janis is perhaps the most unpigenholeable comic strip ever. It also invents new words!
The characters Arlo and Janis have played the parts of mermaids, squirrels, alligators and grasshoppers over the years, all while exploring the unexaggerated human condition and managing to become, with their son Gene, perhaps the most believable family in the funny pages. This unique approach has garnered Arlo & Janis an intelligent and engaged readership and guaranteed that a percentage of it will be confused at any given moment. However, readers eagerly return every day for another quaff from what has been the holy grail for a generation of comic-strip authors: quintessential Boomer humor.

My cat will toss the darkest bits of her Meow Mix from the bowl and leave them uneaten on the floor before she consents to dine.

If he gets hungry enough, he’ll eat it.

And that’s another thing about Labradors . . . . you can feed them the same lousy dried dog food day, after day, after day and they love you for it.

I hate it when the cat tries to scratch the floor up over his food dish to bury it.

We have a little tower about a foot tall that provides continuous feed for our 5 cats
Never seen them turn their noses up at any brand of cat food put in there
Only problem we have is when the tower goes empty, they cluster around it and fight over the last nuggets
It can almost be intimidating when five frustrated felines get hungry and start to get agitated
We keep the tower full to protect the dog, wouldn’t want our little “Pride” to mistake the St Bernard for a Water Buffalo

Funny, we had a toy poodle that did the same thing. But, being a dog, he ate them when he ran out of the other flavors.

Our cat will try to cover up shrimp, tuna and salmon feast sometimes, but if she finds some pasta or peaches left over from dinner on the table, she devours them.

You don’t have to read this, zedman: our cat loved bananas. She’d jump up on a refrigerator to get at them. Once I put a loaf of banana bread wrapped in plastic wrap on the counter, and she jumped up, slashed the plastic, and had at it.

Says something about either their brain power or lack of taste, doesn’t it?

I enjoy the stories.
May I suggest that, when Ludwig is featured, you just skip the comments?
