He is right!! The news isnt the news anymore, it is a biased mixture of what they want us to hear. They also take all the bad news and make it into a long running infomercial.

The US debt is $16.391 trillion today. The unfunded liabilites of Social Security, Medicare etc are $122.9 trillion. They are expected to grow to $22.8 trillion and $149.3 trillion over the next 4 years, or over $8.2 trillion a year. That is over half of the gross domestic product.

I don’t care how big the debt gets- as long SS will pay me a respectical monthly stipdend(including a biannual COLA) for the next 35 years or so, I have no problem if it consumes ALL of the GDP! I have been paying in for 38.5 years(max-ing out over half of those), so I WILL get my money back- with interest.

Most of our debt is owed to ourselves, not the Chinese. US savings bonds. We are the only country that considers such a thing as a debt.

Think of it this way, if you loan your sister 50 bucks, is the family itself deeper in debt? No….

It’s been a long since she only asked for 50 bucks. Now, every week, she asking for a whole lot more, and she also hitting up the neighbors, and putting a bunch of stuff on my credit card… And she has put herself in charge of the family finances…

Meanwhile, back on topic … the news isn’t the news any more in the sense of journalism and reporting, with stories and information that haven’t been reported elsewhere. Television news is trying to find it’s way back to relevance in the internet age of news bites and streaming feeds, so far with little success.

Just talked to a neighbor, 25 minutes ago, who said she and her husband watch BBC to get the REAL news about America.

It’s not news – it’s entertainment. “News” doesn’t make any money – more deregulation wonders from the Reagan administration.

But your “money back – with interest” will only last five or six years.
