Transcript:
Janis: Ludwig's been stretched out all afternoon! Arlo: He was eating the last time I saw him! Janis: Believe me, he finds time to use the litter box! Arlo: He'll want a good petting about bedtime! Arlo: Do you ever think we need him more than he needs us?
My wife and I had two cats right after we got married. They would follow me around like dogs. If they were in front of the house and I went out the back to get the mail, they’d stop patrolling the front of the house, come around to the back and fall in behind me on the walk to the mailbox (collective mailbox at the other end of the block). They’d wait while I got the mail; they’d follow me back to the house. I’d go in the back; they’d go back around the front of the house and resume patrolling. I didn’t teach them that. After all, you can’t teach a cat anything.
