From the salmon-colored sofa that is the center of the Arlo & Janis universe, this unique and quixotic comic strip has been just about everywhere. From unvarnished human drama to flights of unfettered comic fantasy, from unabashed pathos to unsurpassed observational wit, Arlo & Janis is perhaps the most unpigenholeable comic strip ever. It also invents new words!
The characters Arlo and Janis have played the parts of mermaids, squirrels, alligators and grasshoppers over the years, all while exploring the unexaggerated human condition and managing to become, with their son Gene, perhaps the most believable family in the funny pages. This unique approach has garnered Arlo & Janis an intelligent and engaged readership and guaranteed that a percentage of it will be confused at any given moment. However, readers eagerly return every day for another quaff from what has been the holy grail for a generation of comic-strip authors: quintessential Boomer humor.

Sorry, I don’t like sunset before 5:00 PM.

People are more likely to remember this one than the other one. In Spring, if you forget, you are an hour late for work and use that as an excuse. If you forget this one, you are an hour early for work. And who wants THAT?

It wouldn’t bother me a bit if they did away with DST.

Beautiful work!

I don’t like sun to set before 8 pm! I’m not too fond of dark when I get up, either!
And riddle me this: Why do we spend fewer than 5 months on “Standard Time”?
It doesn’t help the economy anymore…we should just pick one and stick with it. This changing just messes up everyone’s internal clock!

I think I’m gonna move in with my brother in Arizona for a bit till I get my own crib. They don’t have to deal with daylight savings there. It should be that way everywhere, that way we can continue with our internal clocks not getting all messed up.

I work nights too (11 years), and I’ve noticed the time change doesn’t affect me as much working nights as it did working days

I for one appreciate the change. In the fall my son doesn’t have to wait for the bus in the dark. The spring is more psychological. Having the sun setting that much later perks my up that winter is almost over.

Good point. The candy industry pushed it big time. Assumed that kids could stay out later on Halloween and they could sell more candy.

@joedon2007 Was that linger a typo or just a state of mind? Because it seems appropriate.
I just wish “they” would stop messing with the daylight, let it be.
