I know it’s hard Janis, but you have to give them time to adjust as a new family. How often did you call your parents when you first married Arlo? Don’t turn into “Momma” or “Cathy’s mom!”

The best advice I never got was not to allow people outside the relationship to interfere. My wife’s mother called and said she hadn’t heard from us in two weeks a phone call would be nice. As I was complaining about that my mother called and said how hard it was to be forgotten and how we were breaking my fathers heart. (Well worn expression, never true)

I know I wish my Mother had never learned about texting when I went to college. My Father complained about how many texts I used while in Madison, and I was able to show him that more than half were from my Mom. LOL
