Gus is short for Augustus after whom the month is named.

I’m sorry, but Gus is just not short for Augustus.

Technically, Gaius Julius Caesar was Octavius’ great uncle on his mother’s side. He later adopted the boy as his successor. Octavius took the name Caesar Augustus.

which Roman bigshot can we blame for the misery ol’ man winter visits on us?
it’s kind of a matter of degrees. to make summer more bearable, our a/c’s only have to bring the temps down from 90 to 78 or so. In winter we have to bring the temps up from like ZERO to 78 or so……….speaking in terms of economics, summer is better.

Rumor has it that we will break 90F for the first time this year on Saturday. Been a long, cool, cloudy Spring in Oregon.
