JJ, I do love your look on life, funny but very observant.

Yeah, wait until she actually walks down the aisle and he’s there waiting for her.

That’s the way I feel about weddings, too!

I feel the same way too. And I’m a romantic woman. Spend the money on the honeymoon!

I think they’ve already had the honeymoon! Go to the J.P. and put the money towards refurbishing that old house they want to buy.

Go to Vegas, let Elvis officiate, have the reception at the Imperial Palace buffet.
It’s a lot of fun for everyone, costs a lot less, and your friends will still be talking about it long after that overpriced stuff that all the other women go for.
The wife wants to go back and do it again…with me again even! :)

It’s even better if you can get Midnight Louie as ringbearer.

I don’t know about Vegas any more. Elvis is gone along with the Rat Pack, Connie Francis, and Sigfried and Roy. Why not scale back even more and go to Reno. Better yet, Winnemucca.

    Their voices cast shadows?

by pure coincidence, my company was having a 10-year-anniversary trip to Vegas the same weekend I got married. All of my coworkers were telling me to come to the bash and do the wedding in Vegas! I have to admit, we actually entertained the idea for about 30 seconds, but kept our local outdoor wedding. (I guess we made the right choice! 11 years and a 5-year-old daughter later, we’re still together!)

As mother of the groom, Janis wouldn’t have much to do with wedding planning anyway.

Like that would stop Janis? She’s been planning this since Gene was born. And since Meg’s mother or step-mother have yet to be seen, I think Janis will step in to take on their role.

Our two kids each got married within a 12 month span. Our son, first and we didn’t have any involvement other than agreeing (happily) to pick up cost of the rehearsal dinner and paying for our daughter’s bridesmaid outfit and after handling all aspects of my daughter’s much less elaborate (but quite lovely) wedding, the grooms parents paid for the rehearsal dinner, I’m sooo glad I wasn’t responsible for both weddings. Now that it’s all in the past I really enjoy the pictures and am so glad they had the beautiful weddings they wanted. We all had a blast! :) :)

My daughter got married 5 yrs ago and we pretty much paid for everything except a couple of the tuxes. Our wedding was in my parents backyard, was over by 5:00 PM and cost $500. The wedding party did more damage to the paint on my vehicle than the wedding cost. 34 1/2 yrs come Xmas.
