    Morning, Anniephans!

    Cover-up!

Here’s the link to the 2005 Annie story, “Freddie.”

First run in 2003, eh? Definately NOT Reagan in the Oval Office…

Everything is political. In 2003 liberals (including this cartoonist) thought the president was an incompetent fool and in 2014 conservatives think the current president is the same thing.

How true is THAT? And no matter who’s been in the White House, none of them have really done anything about the nutjob family that’s been running North Korea for 60 years.

Why is it up to any U.S. president to do something? We don’t own the world.

Yes if a nuclear powered despotic monarchy hermit country decides to put two innocent Americans on trial for espionage what would the USA do?

You are making many assumptions here, without proof I might add.

This may be the first time I’ve ever seen anyone associated with the “Annie” (previously “Little Orphan Annie”) comic strip referred to as a “liberal.”

No, Susan, we don’t. What we DO have (in the real world, not a comic strip) is a U.S. citizen from the Seattle area currently being held prisoner in a NK labor camp on unspecified charges. Think we should just let him rot there?

No of course not. Use diplomacy to get him out, like we have done multiple times in the past.

But that’s not the same as “doing something about” a 60-year ruling dynasty. We may not like their leadership, but it’s not our business to go in there and mess with it. What do you want, a CIA-led overthrow like we did in Iran in ~1953? Yeah, THAT turned out well.
