I like double features, but the second doesn’t usually start until the first one ends.

Trouble with one word in Panel 6.
P1 – Annie, by Jay Maeder and Alan Kupperberg
Newswoman: A stunning week in business … As tycoon Oliver Warbucks rocks the markets with a sensational parade of big ticket acquisitions …
P2 – Newswoman: Meanwhile, thousands of war refugees continue to pour forlornly across …
P3 – Inset: Somewhere behind enemy lines so far away, we find US agent Oliver Warbucks.
Colonel: Gak! Warbucks! We’re eating bugs!
Warbucks: We’ve both eaten bugs before, Colonel!
P4 – Colonel: Yeah! Truth! Lots of times! Still … I really don’t like bugs …
Warbucks: Must admit I could do with a good prime rib myself!
P5 – Warbucks: Well, that will tide us over! Now we’ve got a hike ahead of us!
Colonel: I was afraid you were going to say that!
P6 – Warbucks: Up in those rocks someplace, I think we’ll bump into an old Shiite (?) pal of mine! Let’s get started!
Colonel: Means walking all night … but I guess there aren’t any hotel rooms around here anyway …
P7 – Inset: Back home, meanwhile, we find his appointed lookalike flashily commanding the Warbucks business empire.
Double: More editorials from across the sea? Well, let’s hear them!
Man: ‘Rapacious American brigand’ … ‘Unrestricted megalomaniac’ … ‘Disgraceful glutten’ …
Inset: Jay Maeder and Alan Kupperberg 9-1-02
P8 – Man: ‘Dog of a pig’ … They despise you over there, Mr. Warbucks!
Double: Ha! The living symbol of American greed and excess! Excellent!
P9 – Man: Er … I’m sure you must know what you’re doing, Sir!
    Double: Yes, Son! I do!
    Inset: Continuing, Double Feature

    Thanks as always David.

I like the contrast given of the fake going on a mad spree of buying while the real one is eating bugs and marching at night in treacherous terrain.

David, I’d have given up on Annie altogether if you didn’t, generously, give us the translation from ‘teeny, tiny font’ to ‘legible’. Thank you so very much!

Sheikh. Of course. It’s not very clear, but that’s what it’s got to be.
