    Why is Namor the Submariner presenting the news?

    Do you remember the old Submariner TV show?

    No, but I used to read the comic books.

    Where does Noneofmystand come from? Berzerkistan is from Doonesbury.

    “Cheap old Soviet gunsights”? I thought the Ruskies made a pretty reliable AK 47.
    Hey, davidf42, Just how do you translate those Sunday comics anyway?

    @jmcx4

    I’ve had them saved on my hard drive since way back when. When I get a free moment during the week I bring the next Sunday strip up and view it. Then I enlarge it. They’re still blurry, but I take my time and figure it out. Sometimes, admittedly, I use a little guesswork. One thing that helps is a good viewer. Instead of Windows Photo Viewer I use Irfanview, which makes it a little bit clearer. Actually, I do it for my own enjoyment as much as anything else.

    I think that the reliability of the AK47 was not in its accuracy but in its ability it to function in any type of situation. Plus it is an assault rifle. That means it is good in send a lot of lead out in a short time in short to medium range. Warbucks and crew are probably outside of the optimal range of the rifle even if it was in the hands of a well practiced rifleman. More than likely the men shooting at warbucks have not spent a lot of time at the target range.

    Well, thank you for that. Saves me a lot of eye strain.

    Thanks you for your reply. Looking back, they don’t look like ’47s. Probably some Russian Army reject weapons.

    Noneofmysstand is mine own creation just then. Having a little fun with the —-stans.

    Original AK-47’s used iron gun sights. Very reliable weapon. Doesn’t jam, can be dunked in the water, mud and banged against rocks and trees and still fire. Not as elegant as an M-16, but will survive much better. Not as delicate.

    His full name is King Namor of Atlantis. Always like his look, including the little white bird’s wings on his feet like Mercury.

    Interesting that the artist made the new reader into a splitting image of Namor. From flat head to pointed ears, arched eye brows and widows peak.
