    P1 – Annie, by Jay Maeder and Alan Kupperberg /
    P2 – Colonel: Yow! Getting noisy around here, Warbucks!
    Warbucks: What did you say Colonel? I didn’t catch that!
    P3 – Inset: Somewhere in the Central Asian Mountains US Agent Oliver Warbucks smokes out the vipers!
    SFX: FOOM! FOOM! FOOM!
    Warbucks: Yep! We found ‘em!
    P4 – Warbucks: Okay! Mortars missed us! The trail, Colonel … or what’s left of it! We’re meeting our warlord pal down there!
    P5 – Colonel: For Pete’s sake, Warbucks! How did I ever end up with a madman like you?
    Warbucks: Quiet! I’m trying to read this! Gad! These old radios are terrible! You’d think the Pentagon would buy new ones!
    P6 – Warbucks: Skip it! No rendezvous! Warlord’s troops just got wiped out!
    Colonel: Hoo Boy! Don’t that just leave us stuck on a cliff …
    P7 – Colonel: Well, do we start climbing now, or later?
    Warbucks: We’ll be picked off like bats, of course. But there’s no other choice.
    Inset: Jay Maeder and Alan Kupperberg 8-18-02
    P8 – (No dialog)

    Isn’t Oliver Warbucks just a little old for this type of activity?

    This could just be as easily Kazakhstan. I assume they didn’t want to offend anyone.

    Why are the Sunday Annies so blurry? Its not that they’re small (Dick Tracy is too), but when you enlarge Dick Tracy its clear and legible. You enlarge Annie, and it is still illegibly blurred. I know that GoComics can do better, why don’t they?

    @Travis Brewer

    These were scanned many years ago from the printed comics. At the time, they did not scan at the same high resolution that we are used to today. Short of finding print copies now to rescan at higher resolution, this is what we are stuck with, folks. Either that or forget about even having the Sunday strip online. The Dick Tracy comics that you reference are new, not classic archives like Annie.
