Not only does that doofus NOT look like Daddy Warbucks, he doesn’t act like Daddy Warbucks. Warbucks never lied to people, he always led by example. Harold Gray is probably spinning in his grave.

I don’t this could be called lying – it’s just a pep talk. The cynicism does leave a nasty taste in the mouth, though.

    That is what politicians do.

That was laying it kind of thick, even for Warbucks.

Is there a Statesman in the house?
So tired of all the Politicions (see Mark Sanford being voted back as a South Carolina representative)
    1. a person who is active in party politics.

    2. a seeker or holder of public office, who is more concerned about winning favor or retaining power than about maintaining principles.

It is all too rare for a politician to be a Statesman and Stateswoman.

Sanford is an effective manager. He has experience in Washington and has many contacts. He will do a good job for his constituants. That is why they elected him. His liberal opponent, on the other hand was inexperienced in politics and her only qualification seemed to be that she was the sister of a liberal comedian. Sanford cheated on his wife. So what?
