    Same old Connie. She never was the sharpest tool in the shed; but it seems Annie has found what Connie thought she grabbed. The adventure begins.
    I just want to know one thing: I’ve seen sailing ships built in bottles, but how the heck would you build an aircraft carrier in a bottle??

    I wish they would fix the enlargement feature. I can’t even read the small print in the speech baloons as it is.

    P1 – Annie, by Jay Maeder and Alan Kupperberg
    P2 – Red Rover
    P3 – Leapin’ lizards Admiral! You built all these yourself? / Ho Ho! Just an old sea dog’s small amusement, Annie.
    P4 – But I’d sure like to hear more about this expedition of yours, Chet. / The Admiral is much too modest to confess that he’s the leading authority on the maritime archeology of the Aleutians.
    P5 – And young Gilbraith here is a submariner. / Navy’s put us together. We’ll be mapping more seafloor, documenting a few new shipwrecks.
    P6 – Which is where our engineer neighbor Tom Short comes in. The boys will be using one of Tom’s new submersibles. / Hey, didn’t I just read about this in some magazine? Must be in Amelia’s briefcase. Let me go dig that up.
    P7 – Some miles away, a transaction. / You rat, Bonifay. You’ve played me for a sap! And I’m through! / Now, Connie darling, Let’s talk this out. / Jay Maeder and Alan Kupperberg 7/8/01
    P8 – Here’s what you sent that Doondat guy after, Bonifay. Now it’ll cost you big! / Ah, Connie! You do seem to have me over a barrel. But let me view the goods.
    P9 – What? Just a few magazines? Ah, ha! Ha, ha, ha! Priceless! / Huh? Wrong bag? That girl flyer! Did I grab hers by mistake?
    P10 – ?

    @Newenglandah

    I could only do it by enlarging my browser’s text size to 200%. Some of it was still hard to read. But we have our David142 to save the day.
    Thanks, David142.

    The enlargement feature is one of the things that makes reading comics on-line worthwhile — when it works.

    Daved: Thank you for the translation. My 87 year-old eyes must be getting weaker. But then I read other complaints and figure it’s not just my eyes that have a problem.

    Thanx davidf42. Without your help I’d just have to skip this strip on Sunday’s.

    @Newenglandah

    Enlargement isn’t the problem, it is the quality of the image. The smaller it is the sharper it is. So it should be actually easier to read.
