Could Tom Short modeled after the young inventor Tom Swift, who was the hero of maybe a hundred novels back in the early 20thCentury and also the butt of the “Tom Swifties” jokes? Ray asked, long-windedly.

Probably Home Tutored, Devon.
Considering the Educational system Annie might be smarter than most of her contemporaries

Hey, sometimes she lives the life of the homeless on the run.
Ray, I’d not be surprised if you’re right, I agree Swiftly.

How many days will it take for this adventure to go sour?

How old is she supposed to be anyway?

Annie not going to school is one of the “givens” we just have to accept; like the fact that Lois Lane, world-famous investigative reporter, never realized that Clark Kent looks exactly like Superman, and no one ever notices Spiderman swinging into Peter Parker’s and Mary Jane’s window every night. I could go on.

I wouldn’t go worrying too much about Annie missing school.
At the very least, she’s more than 85 years old.

Devon,
I believe this is the second time you’ve asked about Annie’s schooling. Must say, that your avatar casts you well as a stern Headmaster ;-)

So, what was the point of leaving Tom way back when?
I bet Annie took her GED. Life experience helps with that.
