A little late for Olympics gags, isn’t it? Just how far ahead do these strips get drawn?

I read that Funky Winkerbean was once scripted a year out, don’t know how far ahead it’s drawn. I believe the deadlines are two weeks ahead. Simple gags like this can probably be churned out in bulk and saved up for “writers block” periods.
